Pupils' Safeguarding

At Llancaeach Junior School, our primary aim is to ensure that all of our pupils are safe and happy, and all their needs and rights are fully met. We work closely with a number of agencies, including Social Services, when we have any concerns. Such concerns may be raised by our families themselves, by adults working within school, by members of the community or by outside agencies such as the police.

Our aim is to always be supportive of our families and we try to work in partnership. If we have any concerns and we are able, we will speak with you regarding the issue in the first instance, e.g. head lice, poor attendance, pupils needing a change of clothing, etc. However, we have an overriding responsibility to ensuring pupil safety and wellbeing and may, at times, make an immediate referral to Social Services without contacting you parents before hand. Please see the attached Safeguarding leaflet for parents below that is sent out with all new starter forms. Also, we need to have signed permission if you wish your child to walk home alone, or the names of the adults that will routinely be collecting the children for our records. If this changes throughout the course of the year, please update us.
