Croeso i'n hysgol ni, Ysgol Iau Llancaeach. It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the Llancaeach Junior School website. We are a small caring school in Nelson, Caerphilly. We have 5 classes of pupils aged 7 – 11, currently 146 on roll. We hope that this website showcases the excellent educational experience that we provide for our pupils and also provides essential information.

Our School motto above encapsulates our hopes and aspirations for our pupils and our community including parents, staff and governors. We strive, as a team, to ensure that our pupils meet their optimum academic potential, are ethically informed citizens that will contribute positively to the community as well as Wales and the wider world and understand how to keep themselves physically and mentally fit.

The staff work very hard to provide stimulating, challenging, experiential and engaging lessons. We are also fully committed to supporting our pupils’ wellbeing; almost all of our pupils report that they enjoy school and are able to speak with trusting adults if there are any issues. The Senior Leadership Team are also dedicated to making the best decisions for our pupils and our community. Our Governors are experienced and devoted to fulfilling their roles as critical friends, ensuring that pupils and staff are working steadfastly as a Team to benefit our community.

We have a very strong culture of pupil leadership. Each year, all pupils have a chance to join the Wellbeing Warrior group, Y Criw Cymraeg, become a Digital Leader or work on the Public Relations (PR) or Curriculum Team.
